People ask us all the time, "How did Media Camping Center get started?"  In the early 1960's the Smith family decided to do some family camping.  Following a weeks’ vacation in a rented Nimrod camping trailer, E. Hadden and Bobbie Smith and their three sons, Hadden, Kevin and Warren decided that selling camping trailers would be a great way to involve the entire family in both business and pleasure.  Media Camping Center opened on January 1, 1965 with a dozen Nimrod camping trailers.  For the next several years Bobbie Smith and oldest son Hadden were the principal employees at Media Camping Center, successfully selling and servicing Nimrod campers.

MEDIA CAMPING CENTER started selling Nimrod Camping Trailers in 1965 and Prowler Travel Trailer and Fifth Wheels in 1969.

As business grew and other brands of travel trailers and motor homes were offered, the entire Smith family became involved.  As they say, “Success breeds success,” and in 1972, Media Camping Center of Hatfield was opened featuring Prowler travel trailers. It was no surprise, that Media Camping Center became one of the top Prowler Dealerships in the country, due in part to the success of Media Camping Center and its location on Route 309 in Hatfield.

A third dealership was added a few years’ later in Fairless Hills, Pennsylvania. With three dealerships Conveniently Located surrounding Philadelphia, Media Camping Center is able to better serve RVers in all of Eastern Pennsylvania, Delaware, Maryland and New Jersey. Media Camping Center in Hatfield has become one of the largest RV dealerships in the northeast United States, stocking over 300 New and Pre-owned camping trailers, travel trailers, and motor homes. It’s no wonder that our customers come from up and down the entire east coast, and beyond.
